This page contains information on advocacy and social justice organizations, generally at the national or global level. There are two sections: Organizations for Adults and Organizations for Youth. Organizations are listed alphabetically within each section, with notes about the services they provide and/or specific communities they support (athletes, veterans, etc.).
Organizations for Adults
Advocates for Trans Equality
Advocates for Trans Equality fights for the legal and political rights of transgender people in America.
A4TE pursues litigation, does organizing and voter engagement, runs the Trans Health Project, and conducts the U.S. Trans Survey.
Black Trans Advocacy Coalition
Improving the black trans human experience by overcoming violence and injustice in the world through the power, value and love of all people.
BTAC provides assistance to transgender individuals around basic needs, health care, employment, and housing and advocates for health, housing, and job equality.
SPARTA Pride
SPARTA Pride is a community of transgender service members, veterans, and their allies that provides peer support, educates stakeholders and the public about our community, and advocates with lawmakers and leaders for open transgender military service.
SPARTA Pride provides resources on frequently asked questions about transgender service; member grants; and Facebook support groups.
Sylvia Rivera Law Project
The Sylvia Rivera Law Project works to guarantee that all people are free to self-determine gender identity and expression, regardless of income or race, and without facing harassment, discrimination or violence.
SRLP works on prison and immigration organizing and advocacy and provides legal assistance to transgender individuals, primarily in New York.
Trans Lifeline
Providing trans peer support for our community that’s been divested from police since day one. Run by and for trans people.
Trans Lifeline connects trans people to the community support and resources through their hotline (a peer support phone service run by trans people) and resource library.
Trans Women of Color Collection (TWOCC)
TWOCC is a grass-roots global initiative led by trans and gender non-conforming people of color, uplifting the narratives, leadership and lived experiences of trans and gender non-conforming people of color while building toward the collective liberation of all oppressed people.
TWOCC offers numerous programs, including a leadership and empowerment series for trans and gender non-conforming people of color, a Residential Artist Program, and a Survival + Wellness Fund.
TransAthlete.com
A resource for students, athletes, coaches, and administrators to find information about trans inclusion in athletics at various levels of play.
TransAthlete.com provides policies for trans athletes across the United States and internationally, as well as templates and scripts for contacting lawmakers.
Transgender American Veterans Association (TAVA)
Ensuring TAVA members receive full services and dignified treatment by promoting the values of equality, fairness and respect on behalf of our members and providing a supportive community for Veterans who identify under the “Transgender Umbrella”.
Transgender Law Center
The largest national trans-led organization advocating self-determination for all people.
The Transgender Law Center pursues litigation and provides legal services and programs including the Prison Mail Program and the Attorney Solidarity Network.

TransLash Media is an independent news organization that tells trans stories to save trans lives.
TransLash Media creates, curates, and presents trans-affirming content, resources & events.
TransLatin@ Coalition
Advocating for the specific needs of the Trans Latin@ community that resides in the USA and planning strategies that improve our quality of life.
TLC advocates for the rights of Transgender, Gender Expansive, and Intersex (TGI) community members through strategic policy initiatives and produces research that uplift the voices and lived experiences of TGI immigrants.
TransTech Social
TransTech Social is a co-learning and co-working community created to empower, educate, and employ the LGBTQ+ community through accessible education programs, inclusive events, and equitable employment opportunities that teach practical career-ready skills.
TransTech Social puts on talent-cultivation programs, hosts monthly virtual workshops to share skills, maintains a library of educational video content, and offers a Discord server for members.

The leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention nonprofit organization for LGBTQ+ young people.
The Trevor Project provides 24/7 crisis care for LGBTQ+ young people through calls, chats, or texts; advocates for policies that help prevent suicide among LGBTQ+ young people; produces research; and offers TrevorSpace, an online social community for LGBTQ+ young people 13-24 years old.

Gender Spectrum
Creating a gender-inclusive world for all children and youth by helping families, organizations, and institutions increase their understanding of gender and consider the implications that evolving views have for each of us.
Gender Spectrum provides resources on gender and promoting gender-inclusive schools, as well as support groups for family members.
GLSEN
GLSEN believes that every student has the right to a safe, supportive, and LGBTQ-inclusive K-12 education. We are a national network of educators, students, and local GLSEN Chapters working to make this right a reality.
GLSEN provides resources for youth, families, and educators on how to organize in schools, start Gender and Sexuality Alliances (GSAs), advocate for supportive policies, and more.
Trans Youth Emergency Project
The Trans Youth Emergency Project offers logistical and financial support, provides 1-on-1 custom patient navigation services to unimpacted providers, and supports families of transgender youth with travel grants, to help transgender youth obtain the medical care they need.
